Hollis Street Church (fourth) holds its first service.

Architect: George Meacham. The church is located at today’s 128 Exeter Street. The congregation merges with and becomes known as the South Congregational Church in 1887. The building subsequently becomes the Copley Methodist Episcopal Church and is demolished in 1966 to make way for an apartment building that is built in 1979.*
